Chicago O'Hare International Airport

Aerial Photography Collections by Toby Harriman

Captured from the air, this series by Toby Harriman explores the vast scale and intricate design of Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD), one of the world’s busiest and most connected aviation hubs. Photographed via helicopter in coordination with local air traffic control, the collection offers a detailed look at the runways, terminals, and aircraft movements that define O’Hare’s complex network of global travel.

From intersecting taxiways and parallel runways to the surrounding logistics zones, each image reveals the structure and motion that make ORD a critical link in worldwide aviation. The work highlights the precision, coordination, and visual rhythm found within large-scale airport systems, blending art and infrastructure through a fine art aerial perspective.

Part of Harriman’s ongoing Aerial Gateways series, this collection continues his documentation of major airports across the United States, reflecting both the scale and sophistication of modern air travel.
