Los Angeles International Airport

Aerial Photography Collections by Toby Harriman

Captured from the air above Southern California, this series by Toby Harriman showcases Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), one of the busiest and most recognizable airports in the world. Photographed via helicopter in coordination with local air traffic control, the collection highlights the airport’s unique layout, motion, and light from a perspective few ever see.

From the curved terminals of the central area to the constant flow of aircraft taxiing, landing, and departing across the parallel runways, each image captures the precision and rhythm of global aviation in motion. The surrounding landscape of highways, hotels, and coastline forms a seamless connection between city and sky.

Part of Harriman’s ongoing Aerial Gateways series, this collection continues his documentation of major aviation hubs across the United States, blending fine art and infrastructure into a visual study of movement, coordination, and design.
