Aerial Photography Collections by Toby Harriman
This series showcases George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) in Houston, Texas, as part of my ongoing Aerial Airports Photography Collection. Captured from a helicopter, these images reveal the airport’s sprawling layout, intricate runway systems, and the nonstop rhythm of one of the nation’s busiest aviation hubs. From above, IAH’s design and operations become a striking visual of movement, geometry, and infrastructure.
Alongside the airport’s day-to-day operations, this series also documents the ongoing Terminal B Transformation Project—a $2.6 billion redevelopment led by United Airlines in collaboration with the Houston Airport System (HAS). The project, slated for completion in Fall 2026, includes a full renovation of Terminal B to accommodate larger aircraft and enhance the passenger experience. Construction efforts are being led by firms including Clark Construction Group (Central Processor), Manhattan Construction Company (Terminal B concourses), and Granite Construction (airside work), with architectural designs by Page/Grimshaw and PGAL. These aerial images capture the scale and ambition of the transformation as it unfolds from the sky.
