This project was produced in collaboration with Acubed, an Airbus company, to document their Wayfinder program, focused on advancing autonomous flight systems for next-generation aircraft.
The production centered on high-end air-to-air cinematography and still photography, capturing both aerial and ground-based perspectives across the San Francisco Bay Area. To execute the vision, we sourced and configured a Piper Aerostar 601P as a dedicated camera platform, outfitted with dual Shotover systems paired with RED Helium cameras, enabling simultaneous nose and rear-facing capture.
Working closely with the Wayfinder team, we developed a visual approach that translates complex autonomy systems into cinematic, real-world applications. This included coordinated operations with San Francisco International Airport Tower to capture rare air-to-air touch-and-go sequences on active runways, providing a unique visual context for the technology in action.
The resulting content showcases the scale, precision, and ambition behind Wayfinder’s mission, supporting storytelling across web, press, and internal initiatives, while helping position autonomous flight within the future of commercial aviation.
